E-Commerce Web Design and Development
Recently we had the opportunity to work with longtime client Cycle Solutions on a complete new website development. Now, the fine folks there knew from the very beginning that they’d need to include e-commerce and online sales into the project. The store sells a variety of bike, cross country ski, snowshoe, running equipment, and apparel and accessories. They had been doing more and more business with out-of-town customers via phone orders and customers making special trips from all over the island to get the goods. Online sales would be a way for Cycle Solutions to make it easier for these customers to get the specialty products they’re looking for in an easy to use and secure manner. Not to mention that the online store doesn’t close – open for business 24/7 365 day a year.
When it comes to e-commerce websites each business is different and a number of factors need to be examined when developing your online store. J. Osmond Design worked with Cycle Solutions to create a website that would be easy for both customers and staff alike to use. From a customer’s persepctive, payments are accepted through PayPal, the web’s most popular payment system. This puts customer’s minds at ease when submitting credit card information online. For Cycle’s staff, an easy to use Content Management System, or CMS, allows them to manage the backend of the website, orders, and inventory with some basic training.
When the project was completed we were thrilled with the results. Of course, Cycle Solutions website is much more than just an online store. After all, they’re “More than just your local bike store!” That thing is packed with tons of info on their tour offerings, event schedule, bike tuning tips, their community involvement, and much, much more!
